Rocks, sand, and water

Most, if not all of the beaches in Hawaii, are fringed by lava rocks. With the waves washing in, it makes for an interesting and challenging subject. This painting was a quick hour-and-a-half before I had to leave for the art opening I was attending. I'm going to try and spend some in-depth studio time with this subject next.

Mid-day shore, oil, 11" x 9"

This is another great one! And, I am having so much fun revisiting our trip! We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort (??) I think that's the name. Its the first hotel north of the Sheraton. We were in Maui from 1/25 - 2/25, so looks like we missed you. I wenr down to the the gallery in Lahaina to see it, but the plein air event hadn't yet started. Look forward to more!
