Slowly sinking

I just got around touching up this this plein air painting from last summer that I’d never finished. A very hot day as I recall, and the light had changed so much, I packed it in. It’s a spot I’d driven by many times at the “narrows” between the Leelanau Lakes in Michigan. This boathouse had seen better days, which is what, of course, made it interesting.

Sinking boathouse, oil, 12" x 16"

There is something so compelling about this quietly sinking scene... and a place called the "narrows"... glad you finished it.
