Sailing through the trees
I sketched this scene out front of our cabin at our annual family trip to camp on Portage Lake in Onekama, Michigan a few weeks ago. I just finished this in the studio with photos I took as reference. Summer in Michigan is a beautiful thing.

No wonder you go there annually! That is a view filled with lots of great memories no doubt. What a treasure.
Interesting to me, David, how one jounnals through writing and another by painting. Keep your work coming. It is refreshing both to see and experience it and remember all I owe to you as a person so committed to our common work. Alyce joins in sending our best wishes.
You really captured it. This is a place I know well, and your painting takes me there!
Looks like a wonderful spot to sit and watch the boats go by.
